Decree No 178

About introduction of amendments into Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic No 90 dated 24 April, 1995 «About rates of custom duties on export and import operations in the Azerbaijan Republic»

Baku, 16 December, 1996

In order to improve procedure of export and import operations through custom regulations, to raise export potential and stimulate export, to protect interests of local producers and to meet requirements of domestic market, Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic takes decision:

1. To state that beginning with 1 January, 1997:

  • exported commodities, irrespective of their type, shall not be subject to export duty;
  • as per commodities imported to the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic, liable to import duty, said custom import duty shall be taken at the rate of 15% of custom value of commodities, irrespective of their type.

2. To introduce the following changes into decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic No 90 dated 24 April, 1995 «About rates of custom duties on export and import operations in the Azerbaijan Republic»:

  • to consider as invalid specified in the first paragraph: «Temporary regulation on export custom duty», «List of group of commodities subject to export custom duty when being exported from the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic and rates of export custom duties», «Temporary regulation on import custom duty», «List of group of commodities subject to import custom duty when being imported to the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic and rates of import custom duties».
  • to exclude words «export and from the title of Decree, «On export», «On import» from the second paragraph, «export or» from the fourth clause and subparagraphs 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.8, clauses 3 and 5.
  • the first paragraph of second shall be read as follows:

to state that import custom duties are withdrawn at a rate of 0 (zero) from:»

  • paragraph 2.13 shall be read as follows:

«2.13. Raw materials, materials, consumables, spare parts, components and equipment imported for productive needs of the enterprises».

3. State Customs Committee should work out respective instructions and measures aimed to use and implementation of this Decree.

4. The present Decree becomes valid from 1 January, 1997.

Meeting of the Working Group on Combating Terrorism
The meeting was held under the presidency of a new Chairman of the WGCTOC, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Mr. Georgiy Lordkipanidze with the participation also of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Vilayat Eyvazov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Vasiliy Marmazov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova Mr. Nikolay Gumenny, and GUAM Secretary General Ambassador Valery Chechelashvili.
