The 2005th year being rich with important events in the life of CIS cluster, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The 2005th year can be considered a successful year for service as an organ serving for CIS interests, standing on guard of the economic security and stimulating social-economic development. From either the guarantee of the fiscal function, struggle against customs legal violations, the expansion of the international cooperation or fulfilment of other functions determined by law point of view carried out was followed by concrete results.
Awarding of some groups of collaborators with high special ranks, orders and medals for their service in the development of activities, worthy fulfilment of duties and for their rational activity in the state service by corresponding orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the beginning of the year is the result of the shown care for the customs activity of the head of the country.
As it is known that Azerbaijan was the host for the world customs family in May of the previous year. Assembled delegations in Baku were a witness of the corresponding construction of the modern model of the Azerbaijan customs to international norms.
The held 4 th Council of heads of Customs Administration of member countries of Economic Cooperation Organization, World Customs Exhibition and Forum and the symposium "heydar Aliyev and the development of the Azerbaijan customs" in Baku were very important.
By the way during the official trip of the President of the Republic Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Belgium Kingdom the Intention Protocol was signed. In connection with the globalization of the trade in the contemporary phase duties standing in front of customs authorities, security of borders, joint solution of special regional problems about turnover of narcotics through Great Silk Road were made advanced. The holding of the symposium "President Heydar Aliyev and the development of the Azerbaijan Customs" in Baku was decided. About the importance of implemented grandiose activities of the great leader with foresight was spoken in made speeches on subjects the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the development of the customs service in Azerbaijan, modernization of information technologies, oil strategy, regional economic cooperation, the reconstruction of the Great Silk Road, the integration of the Azerbaijan customs service into the world customs family in the symposium with participation of state and government delegations, international organizations, heads of customs service autorities of different countries. According to the geographical position playing an important role passed way of Azerbaijan in the independent years, measures implemented by customs authorities in this field were met by satisfaction. With the object of the development and simplification of the international trade guests once more were a witness of the correspondence of the Azerbaijan customs national theses to international documents, expansion of international relations and corresponding organizations of region and the world in the worthy fulfilment of moved out duties. Speakers expressing the great importance of the position of Azerbaijan in the region said that the foresight policy of Heydar Aliyev was being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. They said that they had met with the example of service to the state and people in Azerbaijan and they spoke about the importance of the application of this experience in other countries.

The Vice-Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, customs service Lieutenant -General Asgar Abdullayev, the Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov and officials of the Incomes Service of the Republic of Georgia, the State Customs Service of the Republic of Ukraine, Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova took part in the measure.
28.04.2007 First meeting of Audit Committee of World Customs Organization was held On April 16-17 the first meeting of the Audit Committee of the World Customs Organization was held in Brussels city of the Belgian Kingdom. The Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, customs service Lieutenant-General Aydin Aliyev took part in the meeting.
